Julian Temple Band

About the Artist

San Fran-Kiwi Julian Temple brought together the best damn rhythm section he could find to play his tripped up, bipolar songs: Scott Campbell on bass and Paul McLennan-Kissel on drums (2/3 of the the Entropy Trio to be exact).

"Bluesy, funky, jazzy, punky" is an understatement; from troubadour songwriting to grungy rock and roll, latin flavors and alt country to psychedelic, dubbed out, funky beats...ouch...
The Julian Temple Band collide with almost every genre, making the pigeon hole effect a bit of a doozy. Probably the bands biggest strength and their biggest weakness at the same time..."so, what kind of music do you play?" Um...Yeah...About that...Let the music do the talking...

Julian Temple Band makes music that is down and dirty but full of love for sound. Spawned in early 2004, they have independently released two albums and toured extensively in the U.S. and N.Z.

Ever- changing and always re-inventing, the Julian Temple Band's sound is impossible to pin down. It does not matter what they sound like, what matters is that they sound out what the audience want: something new, something fresh, something original. (Obviously this does not apply to those out the back screaming to play "the Gambler.")

Temple's use of electric and acoustic guitars along with his husky and sometimes anguished blues-man vocals brings expressive depth and diversity to the songs. Low frequencies are thumped out by Scott Campbell whose jazz and funk-inspired bass lines glue the band together while PMK's fine tuned and lively syncopation is both backbone and finishing touch.
