Glass Owls

About the Artist

The music of Glass Owls is steeped in the classics, with an uncompromisingly modern edge.

New Zealanders, Tomas Nelson and Anthony Metcalf, appeared at The Great Escape on their first overseas foray ahead of the release of their debut album 'Out From The Darkness'. This was followed by an invitation to play at the NME club night supporting Solomon Grey.

Their music offers everything from heartfelt hooks, magical melodies, luscious lyrics, raucous riffs, poignant progression and other various alliterated non-sequitors.

Singer Tomas Nelson's rich timbre is often compared to the likes of Julian Casablancas, Jim Morrison and Roy Orbison.

Prior to 2013 Glass Owls have release a 6 track EP, 'Dead Love', toured New Zealand extensively, performed at IMNZ's Going Global showcase, and shared stages with local exports Cut Off Your Hands, Popstrangers, Tiny Ruins, and Collapsing Cities.
