FAT FREDDY’S DROP NEWS

FFD GOOD VIBRATIONS
Fat Freddy’s Drop are elevating their status in Australia, selling out two headline shows in November and scoring a top spot at the landmark Good Vibrations Festival 2011.

The pirates of soul have made regular pilgrimages across the ditch since 2003, building a loyal fan base. This week the Wellington band raised the sold out sign on two late November shows at Enmore in Sydney (2,500 capacity) and Forum in Melbourne (1500 capacity) - a feat achieved mainly through their inimitable word of mouth buzz.

The Freddys growing reputation in Australia was further confirmed with news the band is playing all four Good Vibrations festivals in Sydney, Melbourne, Gold Coast and Perth in February 2011. The Freddys have the privilege of taking the stage after soul sister Erykah Badu and then handing over to Damien ‘Jr. Gong’ Marley & Nas who will be performing their collaborative Distant Relatives album.

The annual Good Vibrations Festival first began in 2004 and is considered the event of the Australian summer calendar. In 2011, their heaviest line-up yet also includes Cee-Lo Green, Sasha, Kelis, Ludacris, Janelle Monae, Koolism and many more. The Freddys are going to be in heaven!

FFD ROAD TO OPONONI
Fat Freddy’s Drop have kicked into rehearsals ahead of their November gigs in Australia, paving the way for an epic Road to Opononi Summer Tour around New Zealand and bringing home a taste of their international success.
