Music Matters Launches in NZ & Australia
The MUSIC MATTERS campaign which began in the UK in 2010 was launched today in New Zealand and Australia.
MUSIC MATTERS unites artists, audiences and all those who work in and around music to remind listeners of music's enduring value and significance. The campaign brings together a growing collection of short animated films about inspirational New Zealand and Australian artists. The films are emotional and thought-provoking, with the first animation featuring Dave Dobbyn.
More animations will be introduced over the coming months, showcasing artists who have dedicated their lives to music and helped shape our cultural landscape.
The animated films are complemented by a series of rotating blogs from people across the music community on why MUSIC MATTERS to them. The first NZ blog contributors include Nick Atkinson (Supergroove), Lisa Blatchford (Ivy Lies) and Jeremy Redmore (Midnight Youth) - with many more to follow.
The MUSIC MATTERS campaign also introduces a Trust Mark which is displayed by supporting music stores and online music sites and acts as a guide for music fans to determine whether they are obtaining music from a legitimate source, so they can support music creators.
And we would really like you to get involved and help us spread the word!
