Slipstream at the Masonic, Devonport on 22 June 2012 8pm
Formed in 2011, this band of 11 and 12 year olds are playing their third gig at the Masonic in the past six months.
Slipstream is an aspiring young rock group originating from Devonport, Auckland. In early 2011 four boys, all St. Leo's primary school students at the time, formed the band. After some jam session and direction from Mothra guitarist Hugh, they were ready to debut their brand new songs at a now recurring venue, The Masonic Tavern.
In May 2012 Slipstream recorded a demo at The Bassment, Takapuna that consisted of six original songs. Their distinct rock sound is inspired by the likes of AC/DC, Rage Against the Machine, Foo Fighters and Kings Of Leon.
The members of Slipstream are Guitarists Luke Jones on rhythm and Justin Pereira on lead, Hank Trenton on bass and drummer Rory Craig.
Slipstream often plays at The Masonic Tavern opening for bands such as Mothra on a Friday night. So be sure to keep up-to-date with the band's schedule there as well as Slipstream's Facebook page.
