The Echo Ohs Release New Single
From their forthcoming album "Hot Pockets", The Echo Ohs release their new single & video "Up The River".
This kick arse three piece have been working hard on Hot Pockets which will be released in June on local label 1:12, home of cult bands Las Tetas, the Drab Doo Riffs and The Cavemen. This full length debut promises to reinforce their unique sound from which the seeds have been sown with tracks like The Gnarl, Hush & The Cooler - all of which have featured on the 95bFM Top Ten, and You Don't Mind which reached number 5 on the NZ alternative charts.
The Echo Ohs sound can only be described as dusty spaghetti-surf reminiscent of a sparse film noir soundtrack with hallucinatory vocals from bassist Yolanda Fagan. Guy Forkes guitar derives from lurid garage and post punk influences, whilst Emlyn's cool beating of the skins, creates a lurching and writhing cauldron of cowboy psych and/or beach zombie.
Having secured a number of of international supports from such luminaries as Thurston Moore, Cate Le Bon, The King Brothers and Chain & The Gang, look out for The Echo Ohs "Hot Pockets" in June 2017, and in the meantime, check out "Up The River".
