The Nudge Announce Auckland Show With Laughton Kora in Preparation of New Release

June 22nd 2016

2016 will see the release of "Dark Arts", the sophomore release from Wellington Psychedelic Blues trio The Nudge.

To start the ball rolling, The Nudge will travel to Auckland to play at Whammy Bar on Saturday, 2nd July. Joining The Nudge on stage is the ever enigmatic Laughton Kora performing a set of solo music. Both Laughton and members of The Nudge will feature in the upcoming Fly My Pretties "String Theory" concert.

2016 is shaping up to be a huge year for The Nudge, summer time started with a NZ tour with Fat Freddy's Drop performing to thousands at the country's finest wineries. During the tour The Nudge released material from the upcoming album on You Tube here. This excerpt, while an unofficial release, has been picked up by NZ music TV, and forms part of an epic composition entitled "Bring Me Your Love" that is the backbone of the new album. In March The Nudge performed at Wellington's CubaDupa and Nelson's MarchFest, and featured in John Psathas' No Mans Land WW1 composition project, now released as a feature length film.

Prior to the Whammy show The Nudge will head North to Auckland to film a music video for "Dark Arts" with production company Renegade Peach at Great Barrier Island. The video is supported by NZ on AIR and will be released later in 2016.

The artwork for the Whammy show has been designed by Willie Devine, a long time visual collaborator of The Nudge. Expect to see brand new T Shirts with the new artwork as well as the existing summer Tie Dye stock at the Whammy Bar show.
