THERE IS NO RECESSION IN NEW ZEALAND
“Being a compulsive talker of jibba jabba and having the constant need of expressing myself in rhyme and verse has lead me on the path of musical exploration. This entry is one of many songs i have written, it relates to the all powerful woman who uses her strength of natural beauty to gain control of the simple male of the species, "Ain't going downtown" is the title and it means exactly that.”
Andy Parker – Winner of Kiwi Fm and York Street Recording Studios song writing competition, with Downtown.
We proved that just because there was an economic recession didn’t mean there at to be a creative one. With so many entries we whittled it down to five finalists: Reb Fountain, Adrien Drew, Steve Lo-Giacco, Chelsea Parsons and Andy Parker. The public voted and Andy Parker from Christchurch will be flown up next week from the shaken city, for the grand prize.
Thanks to York Street Recording Studios, Andy will record his song over two days with Pop Science – a superstar session band made up of some of the best musicians New Zealand has to offer, including Scotty Pearson from Elemeno P, Clint Harris from Opshop & Stephen Small from Autozamm/The Verlaines. Between them, Pop Science have 51 albums, 14 New Zealand Music Awards And 1.36 Million Mysapce views. Pretty Impressive.
Once Andy’s tune has been recorded, mixed and mastered, Digital Rights Management (DRM) will digitally release it to the world.
So once again congratulations to all who entered and especially to Andy Parker – watch this space for the end result!
