Awards Announced for Waiata Music Awards 2009

The Waiata Maori Music Awards were held at the Hastings Opera House in the Hawkes Bay on Saturday, 14 November 2009. The Music Commission would like to congratulate all the winners on Saturday – with particular mention to Herbs, winner of the Music Commission sponsored Music Industry Award (Contemporary).

The Music Industry Award celebrates an individual, Maori or non-Maori, who is or has been active in the New Zealand music industry (i.e. in production, promotion, operations, management, etc.) who through their dedication to Maori music, made or presently makes a positive impact on M?ori music.
The Music Commission is proud to support this award for a most deserving recipient.
