DEVILSKIN SECURE PERFORMANCE AT DOWNLOAD - THE UK’S NUMBER ONE HEAVY MUSIC FESTIVAL

NZ’s own rock sensation’s Devilskin have been invited to play at Download Festival in the UK.

Download is the world famous three day Rock Festival held at the spiritual home of rock - Donnington Park, Leicestershire, UK on 9th - 11th June 2017. Devilskin perform Sunday 11th. Devilskin join an incredible 2017 line up which includes Aerosmith, System of a Down, Slayer, Biffy Clyro, Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch, Alter Bridge, Airbourne, Coheed and Cambria and many more.

Devilskin's Paul Martin says "we are totally ecstatic to be performing at this years Download Festival alongside so many of our heroes. We can't wait! It's very cool to be flying the flag for New Zealand rock at what is probably the apex of international rock events. From Castle Donnington Monsters of Rock to the monster Donnington is now, this is definitely one of the most important festivals in the world today. Bring it on!"

 

NZ PERFORMERS AT THE 2017 WOMAD FESTIVAL, CHILE

The International Arts Festival, WOMAD Chile, hosted performances from New Zealander’s Rob Ruha, Ria Hall and Tyna Keelan, alongside artists from almost every corner of the globe.  Over 40,000 attended the three-day event in Santiago.

 

NADIA REID FEATURED IN THE FEBRUARY ISSUE OF RESPECTED UK MAGAZINE MOJO

Respected journalist Andrew Male has written an insightful interview with Nadia Reid in the February edition of UK music magazine MOJO, showcasing her upcoming album Preservation.

FAZERDAZE MAKING INTERNATIONAL IN-ROADS

During February Fazerdaze were not only featured as track one of Hype Machine's Stack playlist, according to Hype Machine's 'Most Blogged' chart, they were also the 7th most blogged about artist in the world in late February.

Fazedaze have also been celebrating selling out her first Melbourne headline show on February 17 at the Gasometer.

 

THE COUNTDOWN TO SXSW IS ON

There will be a strong contingent of kiwi’s showing their talents at the 2017 South by Southwest Music Festival in Texas. Aldous Harding, recently US-signed Dunedin artist Kane Strang, Berlin-based Sun and The Wolf and Parker Lane (featuring New Zealander Lucy Graves) will be performing at this international event.

 

SAM DE JONG SIGNS AN INTERNATIONAL PUBLISHING DEAL WITH SONY/ATV

Congratulations Sam de Jong on signing a publishing deal with Sony/ATV! Sam is a songwriter, musician and producer and has been instrumental in many hits such as Maala's Kind Of Love and Nomad's Oh My My. This is an awesome acknowledgement of Sam's work and a great feat for him as a producer.

 

MEL PARSONS AT FOLK ALLIANCE

In February Christchurch singer/songwriter Mel Parsons journeyed into the heart of the international folk music world and took part in the Folk Alliance International Conference held at the Westin Crown Centre Hotel in Kansas City, Missouri. Mel performed her own well attended official showcase as well as a dizzying array of private show that took place in the hotel’s 5, 6, and 7th floors.

The Folk Alliance International Conference is the world’s largest gathering of the Folk music industry and community. The conference crosses a diverse array of genres including Appalachian, Americana, Blues, Bluegrass, Celtic, Cajun, Global Roots, Indigenous, Old Time, Traditional, Singer-Songwriter, and Spoken Word.

 

ALDOUS HARDING SIGNS ALBUM DEALS WITH MAJOR BRITISH INDEPENDENT LABEL 4AD

Aldous Harding has become the first NZ solo artist to sign with major British independent label 4AD (home to The National, Pixies, St Vincent, Bon Iver, Grimes and more). Aldous has recently completed her second album Party with producer and multi-instrumentalist, John Parrish at the helm (PJ Harvey). Party is due for release first half of 2017.

And more Aldous news…Her first single from Party, the haunting Horizon, was Australia’s Beat Mag’s single of the week.

KIWI ARTISTS CONFIRMING SIGNIFICANT INTERNATIONAL SUPPORT SLOTS

·       The Naked and Famous are supporting USA pop punk band Blink 182 around the USA.

·       Anthonie Tonnon is supporting indie band The Veils (featuring kiwi Finn Andrews) throughout Belgium and The Netherlands in April.

·       Aldous Harding has support shows in the USA performing before Andy Shauf.
