Hook, Line & Sung Along

August 2nd 2010
A huge thanks to all the schools around the country who participated in singing along to 'Made In New Zealand'.

On the last day of NZ Music Month for 2010 and at 12 noon we were celebrating great homegrown music at schools up and down New Zealand as part of 'Hook, Line & Sing-along'. Classes and entire schools got together to sing along to 'Made In New Zealand', the fantastically catchy song written by Amber Le Compte, Nikki Taylor and Katherine Muir from Gisborne Girls High School.

It was great to hear about so many schools getting involved - from the teachers who taught the students the melody, the parents heading into assembly halls to sing with their kids, and parliamentarians around the country turing up to sing along - thanks to all of you for your efforts!

But most of all we would like to thank the students from all the participating schools.  We hope you had as much fun as we did and keep on singing all year round.

We have put the song, backing tracks, lead sheets, and some of the video versions in the Education Resources section.
