NZM Newsletter - Bringing Sixy Back!

October 21st 2010
The October/November issue of NZM is HERE!

In this issue, we bring sixy back with Karoline Tamati, aka Ladi6 on the cover, accompanied by her on-stage crew of Parks and Julien Dyne. On their return from a six month stint in Europe, Ladi popped into NZM Towers to discuss her time away and the fast-tracked recording of her sophomore album 'Ladi6: The Liberation Of'...'.

It's been awards season of course and inside we round up this year’s NZ Music Awards, while Godfrey de Grut explains just what it is about Young Blood that made it good enough to win the APRA Silver Scroll for relative newbies The Naked and Famous. Speaking of which, latest NZ Music Hall of Fame inductees Shihad also get candid about the making of their eighth album 'Ignite'. (Full article online HERE.)

Elsewhere inside, Goodsort Gareth Thomas talks about his own intimate solo number; Katchafire go 'On The Road Again'; Grayson Gilmour sits down with fellow Wellington electronic music freak Distasteradio for a geek-a-phile chat; Dunedin foursome Knives At Noon give us the glittery guts on their sparkly new EP; Ritchie Setford spills his guts about 'Bannerman'; Electric Wire Hustle, who are making a noise right now at the CMJ Music Marathon, give us a peek inside their last Euro tour diary; the now one-man Concord Dawn talks about 'The Enemy Within' and his mate without; Decortica frontman Matthew Bosher gives a lesson in freemium and we take a glance inside the newly established indie conglomerate Frequency Media Group. And still there's more - including four Fresh Talent acts, four cool condenser microphones reviewed, 40 or so Fresh Cut album and EP reviews and effing thousands of words of wisdom from our regular team of industry experts and know-it-alls.

Annual subscriptions to NZ Musician are available within NZ for just $25 (six issues). Email info@nzmusician.co.nz for the details.
