NZM Newsletter - Dec/Jan Issue Out Now + Giveaways!

December 15th 2010

Oh come all ye faithful NZM readers! Good tidings we bring this silly season with the hot-off-the-press arrival of the December/January 2011 issue of your favourite local music mag. And in appropriate Christmas fashion, we're giving away some cracking goodies over at nzmusician.co.nz, in our WIN section below and a FREE 2011 NZ Music Industry Wallplanner with each original (glossy paper) copy.

Fronting this busy issue, DJ-turned TV show maker Nick Dwyer talks with Lydia Jenkin about how he's going about taking Kiwi music to the world, in his own inimitable fast-talking fashion, with the second series of 'Making Tracks'.From the other end of his own glittering career, NZ music icon Max Merritt talks about his Meteor-ic history with fellow LA-based Kiwi muso Johnny Kempt. In-demand Auckland producer Dave Parker welcomes us into his Little Monster bedroom studio for a listen to his yuletide indie compilation 'A Very Little Christmas', and, speaking of bedroom producers, Greg Johnson spills about his ninth studio LP, self-everythinged from his Santa Monica apartment. Christchurch band Dukes re-emerge from the underworld with their sophomore album; Little Chief Records' newest electro pop sensation Miles McDougall reveals his Pikachunes' origins in a love of Pokemon; Fleur Jack talks about feeling the love from online funding strategies, and, it's not Daft Punk but Hamilton's very own robot band The Trons who wrap things up with a three-chord thrash. All that plus Fresh Talent bands, 40 or so album and EP reviews, a trio of studio-friendly headphones reviewed... and a partridge in a pear tree.

Did we also mention this issue comes with your very own pull-out and keep 2011 Studio, Label and Rehearsal Facilities Directory? Choice!

Subscribe to NZM before Xmas and be in to WIN a copy of Ian Chapman's fab easy reading book 'Kiwi Rock Chicks: Pop Stars & Trailblazers'.
