AWME Showcase Applications Are Now Open

Over the last three years the Australasian World Music Expo (AWME) has established itself as a major international music industry event pioneering new networks and creating opportunities for musicians world wide by engaging with industry representatives from around the globe.

Over the last three years the Australasian World Music Expo (AWME) has established itself as a major international music industry event pioneering new networks and creating opportunities for musicians world wide by engaging with industry representatives from around the globe.

In 2010 AWME brought together over 300 musicians, 400 local and international delegates and over 8000 audience members for four days of music, workshops, seminars and showcase concerts.

Artists that have showcased at AWME since 2008 have secured substantial outcomes including: export, touring and festival opportunities such as Glastonbury (UK), Big Chill (UK), Sierra Nevada World Music Festival (Ca, USA), WOMAD, Fuji Rock (Japan), Sakifo Festival (Reunion Islands), as well as deals with booking agents and record labels locally and abroad.

Previous showcases performances have included Femi Kuti & The Positive Force (Nigeria), Groundation (USA), Stone Love (Jamaica), Blue King Brown, Archie Roach, Dan Sultan, Public Opinion Afro Orchestra, Mad Professor (UK), King Kapisi (NZ), The Raah Project, Mista Savona, Frank Yamma, Jeff Lang, Narasirato Pan Pipers (Solomon Islands), The Woohoo Revue, Electric Wire Hustle (NZ), Tijuana Cartel, The Red Eyes, The Last Kinection, Moab Stringband, Dubmarine, Moana and the Tribe (NZ), Kora (NZ), Brothablack, George Telek (PNG), The Chooky Dancers and many more.
