As part of Asquith Session no.3, focusing on Americana and Roots, The Tracking Crew (a group of Australia's premium session musicians), together with Aly Cook and Jon Abo, deliver their interpretation of one of Aly’s favourite songs, John Prine’s Classic ‘Angel From Montgomery’.
Aly says.. “I was so sad to hear that Covid had taken the life of one of my favourite songwriters. This was the song I got to choose for the Asquith Session. So cleverly written about how a woman is feeling, but written by a man from a woman’s perspective. John Prine was a genius songwriter! RIP.”
The Asquith Session no.3 was recorded simultaneously with Cook’s latest album ‘Caught in the Middle’, which has met with critical acclaim, and has already attained 3 top 10 Airplay hits, including a #1 with the lead out track ‘Red Dirt Road Trip’.
