KOKOMO to Back Richard O'Brien for His 75th Birthday Bash

March 20th 2017
There will singing! There will be dancing! Come prepared with antici.........pation

Once againRichard O'Brien has called upon KOKOMO to be his backing band, this time for his amazing 75th Birthday show, Frock'n'Roll. It's happening at Baycourt Theatre in Tauranga this Friday (24th March) with all proceeds going to Starship Children's Hospital. It's going to be spectacular!

Richard has regularly sung with KOKOMO over the fifteen years since we first met and 5 years ago we were his backing band for the big 70th birthday bash at The Founders Theatre in Hamilton. It's always a joy to be on-stage with him - as a performer he's always at his unpredictable, exciting, charismatic best.

So this is going to be a blast! In addition to the band, we'll be joined by the fantastic Grant Winterburn who will lead the ensemble on keyboards (Grant first recorded with us down in Wellington in the mid-90s!), and multi-instrumentalist Robbie Laven with his sax and fiddle. Robbie's been guesting with KOKOMO for a while now and was a big part of our 25th anniversary show last Easter.

So there'll be Richard, and Mark Sainsbury and the inimitable Grant McLachlan flying in from Australia to sing a few Rocky tunes... brilliant!

We can't wait and we hope to see you there.
