Te Wiki O Te Reo Maori - Stan Walker, Maisey Rika, Ria Hall and Troy Kingi's Aotearoa

July 21st 2014
It is the start of Te Wiki O Te Reo Maori - Maori Language Week - and the new single Aotearoa has been released.

To celebrate Māori Language Week, Stan Walker, Troy Kingi Ria Hall and Maisey Rika have teamed up on a new te reo track 'Aotearoa'.

Ria Hall said "We are all so very proud of this waiata, as we believe it reflects the heart and soul of what it means to be a New Zealander. Regardless of the fact that it is sung in te reo Māori, it excludes no one - it is a song for us all to celebrate ahakoa nō hea, ahakoa ko wai - no matter where you are from, or who you are.

With all the craziness that is happening in the world, it is necessary more than ever for our nation to unite and stand together as ONE. This is the message within our song, and it is an ideal that all 4 of us artists strongly believe in, and advocate for.

Over the next couple of days, we will be doing lots of media getting this song out into the ethos and encouraging listeners to be open minded, and generous of spirit. Keep an eye and an ear out for us on TV and on radio tomorrow!

We hope you enjoy the positivity it brings, and we look forward to bringing it out into the world of light.

Tēnei te mihi ki a koutou o Pūkana, o Cinco Cine hoki. E Matai, e Viv koutou ko ngā kaitautoko - tēnā koutou e whakarangatira ana i tēnei kaupapa! Mā te huruhuru ka rere te manu, nō reira e aku rangatira, e kore ngā mihi e mutu!

Hei āpōpō e hoa mā!"
