Whānui: 4 Tha Lumana'i

March 19th 2018

A ground-breaking live performance led by music and sound producer Anonymouz, 4 THA LUMANA'I finds the parallels between traditional Sāmoan customs and contemporary Hip Hop lyricism.

Backed by compelling video projection, a cast of local Sāmoan tulāfale orator chiefs join rappers, poets and community performers for a living conversation between the past, present and future.

Part of Auckland Art Festival's Whānui programme. Whānui is a celebration of Tāmaki Makaurau and our creative neighbourhoods.

For 2018 the Whānui theme is creative intergenerational conversations: where older and younger people interact, create, share and learn from each other with five events taking place across the Auckland region.

Fri 23 March 7.30pm
Sat 24 March 7.30pm

Entry free, but booking is required to guarantee your place

Whānui is supported by the Auckland Diversity Project Fund - Creative New Zealand, Foundation North and sponsored by Todd Corporation
