Women in Music - Info-Workshop Series and Recording Opportunity!
Women About Sound aims to encourage the development of a thriving diverse music scene for women in New Zealand. We welcome all women including trans-women to engage in this project.

The first phase of the project is a series of workshops to help you prepare original songs for recording. The workshops also aim to create a community of musicians which can provide you with an ongoing support network within the music industry. Each workshop will be led by female musicians currently in the music industry including Ladi 6, Caitlin Smith, Trip Pony, Miloux & Gemma Copas.
19th March 1-4pm - Panel Discussion of challenges facing women musicians
26th March 1-5pm - Songwriting workshop
2nd April 1-5pm - Recording preparation workshop
All workshops are held at the Audio Foundation.
The workshops are free.
The second phase of the project is recording one of your original songs at the Depot Recording studio in Devonport. Recording will be taking place 14th-17th April and 22,23rd April, and you will be allocated a number of hours to record your song to a high quality. Cost for recording and mixing is $40. If you intend to record a song you should attend the workshops.
Nb. You can attend the workshops even if you don't have a song ready to record, come and meet some fellow musicians, and gain some new skills!
