COVID-19 Grant Applications Close Friday 29 May

May 23rd 2020
There are not many days left to apply for the Creative New Zealand Emergency Relief Grant and Arts Continuity Grant opportunities – Phase 1 of their Emergency Response to COVID-19.
The new closing date is 1pm Friday 29 May. (The closing date for the Short-term Relief for Investment Clients remains unchanged at 31 May.)

They’ve had an overwhelming response from the arts community, and will continue to consider all applications received up to the final closing date in the same way that they have treated previous applications. Creative NZ would like to say thanks for your patience as they deal with the continued high demand for these opportunities. They will email you if their review of your application will take longer than outlined on the website. If you’re yet to apply, take care to send them everything they’ve requested.

Creative New Zealand anticipate there may be a lot of pressure on their systems on the final closing date next Friday, so encourage you to submit your application well before then if you can.

The Creative New Zealand website has information about eligibility and how to apply for the Emergency Relief Grant (for loss of income) and the Arts Continuity Grant (project funding to 30 September).

You can also watch the ‘how to’ videos that walk you through the application process:
Emergency Relief Grant – with Senior Adviser Catherine George
Arts Continuity Grant – with Funding Adviser Kereama Te Ua

Please contact covid19response@creativenz.govt.nz if you need more information after reading the website content and watching the videos.

The Arts Council will meet on Tuesday 26 May to consider the Phase 2 approach, including future funding opportunties. Creative New Zealand will give a further update on their plans to continue to support the sector as soon as they can after that.
