Touring Well With Ben Cole
We talk to Ben Cole from The Datsuns about his touring well tips!
What do you always do before you go onstage?
Some warming up is always a good idea! Earplugs too, make sure those are in. Make sure the setlists are on stage and make sure there's enough drinks on stage too. Last minute visit to the bathroom and we're good to go!

How many days in a row can you perform? - before your voice/body needs a break.
About 6-7 seems to be about the limit before shows start to suffer a little. You can do more but it can become more of an endurance test instead. It's tougher on singers too, and if a voice goes that's pretty bad.
What hacks do you have to make sure you get enough rest?
Learn to sleep whenever you're travelling! It's a useful skill to be able to sleep sitting up in a moving van with music playing and people talking.
If eating a balanced diet is important to you, how are you able to find healthy options while you are touring?
That can be a challenge. If you're a vegetarian in France expect to be eating a LOT of bread and cheese and not much else! However, a lot of venues in Europe have kitchens and they'll cook for the band, crew and their staff and you all eat together. That's pretty cool!
What do you enjoy most about touring?
Honestly, almost all of it. Playing almost every night, meeting really excellent people, travelling to places you never thought you would; it's great! Putting up with small inconveniences like being tired and eating at weird times is a small price to pay.
