Touring Well with Nomad
-
What do you always do before you go onstage?
Before we go on stage we always sing through the first song of the set so we feel familiar with it, non vocalists play air guitar or drums on their laps.. Once we're a few minutes from going on we play 'Slow Love' by Prince and do a huddle where we talk about what we want to accomplish in the gig and what our focus' are. We then do a secret nomad chant and we're on.How many days in a row can you perform? - before your voice/body needs a break.
We would never want to go more than 5 days in a row singing without a break. What hacks do you have to make sure you get enough rest?
We aren't too technical when it comes to warming up and keeping our vocal health, we just try not to scream or sing too loudly out of performance and rest when we can on planes or in cars etc..If eating a balanced diet is important to you, how are you able to find healthy options while you are touring?
Eating healthy on tour is a tricky one, but it's super important. Googling places in towns before you get there helps but it is a constant struggle for sure and it's easy to give in!
What do you enjoy most about touring?
Of course we enjoy playing to people the most, it's such a small portion of the time you actually spend on tour but it makes the waiting around and the needing to go to the toilet in the tour van all worth it.
