Venue of the Day - The Third Eye

  • What drives you to bring live music to your area?

More than anything it's the space - it's crying out for music and other events, being upstairs and separate from the bar, cozy, quirky and with a good, live acoustic.

What days of the week do you have live music?

Any day of the week! However with regular events on most Monday and Thursday evenings, Sunday afternoons, and semi regular Tuesdays and Wednesdays, people should look to the weekend if they want to book a gig with us.

Tell us about a favourite live music moment?

Filling the room to capacity on a Monday night for a jazz orchestra concert was a highlight - it was a great buzz and a bit of a coup for me personally, as I'd organised the concert series from the ground up. It's called Arthur Street Loft Orchestra and you can catch us presenting new music by local composers every every Monday in May from 7:30pm.

Please give us details of how and where people can find your venue?

"The Third Eye - Tuatara's Temple of Taste" on Facebook is a good start to see what we have going on. Otherwise just pop in, we're open every day from 12pm, 30 Arthur Street in Te Aro, Wellington. You can't miss it, there's a huge Tuatara mural on one side of the building!
