Thee Bad Mana Wahine Te KuraHuia is releasing Aotearoa NZ’s next favourite Hīkoi Anthem bringing people together through the rhythms and beats of this next hit single making you bop every migration with your people under the protection of Aroha (Love).
‘Toitū te Tiriti’ releases this Mahuru Māori! Sunday 14 September.
Acknowledging all Whakapapa connections is a part of knowing who you are. Knowing Mātauranga Māori and sharing it makes you a Kaitiaki Mātauranga.
Te KuraHuia raised by her kaumatua since birth as a Whāngai had a childhood of many ups n downs has recognised many issues within the world today. She has been aiming to create safe spaces for Rangatahi Māori to unify and just be Māori sharing knowledge, creating and healing through what Māori love doing.
“As the Director of Taniwha Studios, I wanted to be of service to the voiceless which are the generations below and including myself. Growing up I always wanted a Tuakana who cared about me, so I aim to be the best Tuakana my teina deserve. We have each other, our very own whānau and support system. Home away from home.”
Anō te pai te āhua reka o te noho o ngā teina me ngā tuakana i raro i te whakaaro kōtahi.
Te KuraHuia is growing her dream studio so that she may continue to create safe spaces for other storytellers to create unapologetically without judgement. Recently she developed a Live Band Theatre Show involving her Band AFTERPARTY and a community of emerging storytellers.
She is excited to announce her performance at next year’s Splore Festival 2026.
She is also excited to introduce her hoa/friend the TANIWHA.
Her kaitiaki through life in their first album currently in production for the end of the new year.
Keep your eyes open and watch that space for TANIWHA.
Mā te wā ka kite pea?
Until then maybe?
