DAILY KENO are proud to announce the release of their debut album THAT MY JC, an 8–track journey through reflections on loneliness, love, and fatherhood. Engineered and recorded by Lee Prebble at his acclaimed Wellington studio, The Surgery, the album is the brainchild of songwriter Mark Sommerville, brought to life with an all-star band featuring Riki Gooch, Jacqui Nyman, and Dayle Jellyman.

A rich sonic landscape unfolds across the record—spacious guitar and synthesiser textures intertwine with deep grooves and sincere vocals. Together, this powerhouse lineup creates a sound both intimate and expansive, carving out a unique space in Aotearoa’s contemporary music scene.

Lead singles ‘Sunlight. Sugar’ and ’Peaches & Crème’ have already garnered critical acclaim, with ‘Sunlight. Sugar’ praised by Glen Thurston of Music, Movies & Madness as “a lot of fun, a dreamy musical experience.”
“This album is a reflection of where I am creatively and emotionally right now,” says Sommerville. “I wanted to make something sincere and sonically simple/minimal.”

To celebrate the release, DAILY KENO will perform the album in full at the Newtown Community Centre (Whare Tapere) on Friday, September 26. The evening will feature special guests Love Party and Frances Grass, promising a night of powerful, heartfelt performances. Get tickets here.
