The critically acclaimed Lou’ana has today released a new single ‘Heartbeat’, which marks the changing of seasons and takes fans one step closer to the release of her full-length album DISCO WITCH (out October 31).

In June, Lou’ana released SO BELOW – a collection of songs, making up Side B of her upcoming album. Now she’s revealing songs from Side A – AS ABOVE, including the euphoric disco and dance track, ‘Heartbeat’.

This release aligns with the Spring Equinox – a time of renewal, balance and celebration. As a Disco Witch, I honour the turning of the seasons, staying in tune with Mother Earth and the cosmos,” says Lou’ana.

‘Heartbeat’ is “the story of a woman surrendering to the night and to her confidence; dropping into the heartbeat of the song and into the healing grooves of music,” adds Lou’ana.

The Auckland-based singer and songwriter wrote ‘Heartbeat’ several years ago with a team of songwriters from Aotearoa, before then crafting it with producer Nathan Judd.

During the pandemic, Nate gathered a bunch of amazing songwriters and paired us off with different groups. Chris [Dent], Brendon [Thomas] and I got put together one evening and we came up with ‘Heartbeat’. Nate and I went on to craft the song to what it is today,” explains Lou’ana.

Guaranteed to fill the dance floor, ‘Heartbeat’ captures the essence of Lou’ana’s upcoming album DISCO WITCH, which is made up of Side A – AS ABOVE and the already released Side B – SO BELOW, which contains the tracks ‘My World’, ‘Disco Coven’, ‘Night Creature’, ‘Gravitate’ and ‘Aphrodite’.

I love people and giving them something to dance to and to feel. I’m all about feeling and I collaborate with amazing people who share this passion,” she says.
