Āwhitu South Auckland’s high-energy riff rock duo, The Boondocks, are cranking up the volume today with the release of their blistering new single and video, ‘Hell Of A Time’ – the final taste of their upcoming debut album, Don’t Let Them See You Cry, dropping October 17.
Hot on the heels of previous release ‘Bear With Me’, new single ‘Hell Of A Time’ is an infectious party rock anthem that channels the likes of Nirvana and New Zealand’s Elemeno P.
Shot with the same intensity that fuels their live shows, the ‘Hell Of A Time’ video showcases the duo’s chemistry and relentless energy – cementing their place as one of New Zealand’s most electrifying rock acts.
Produced by Scott Seabright, with artwork by Jimmy Coldham and layout by Indium Design, Don’t Let Them See You Cry is a gritty, heartfelt debut that charts the band’s evolution.
“This album was a crash course of learning how to write tunes,” says Scott. “We’ve worked hard to make our own sound and style – and we can’t wait for what’s next.”
With over 130,000 Spotify streams, seven charting singles, and two consecutive appearances in The Rock 2000, The Boondocks are making their biggest statement yet with their debut album Don’t Let Them See You Cry, and what a statement it is.
To mark the arrival of their explosive new single and highly anticipated debut album, The Boondocks are hitting the road for a nationwide tour. Be sure to catch them live:
