Auckland alternative pop artist John Paul has released his latest single, ‘Try Something New’, an infectious electronic-pop track combining strong melodies, memorable hooks and polished modern production.
Produced by acclaimed British producer Steve James, the new single continues a long-running creative partnership between the Auckland songwriter and the internationally respected producer.
James brings an impressive production pedigree to the project, having worked with artists including George Harrison, The Sex Pistols, The Jam and Shirley Bassey, as well as a host of major Australian acts.
‘Try Something New’ showcases John Paul’s ability to combine alternative influences with contemporary electronic pop, creating a sound that is melodic, accessible and distinctly his own.
The John Paul project is also a genuinely international musical collaboration, bringing together creative talent from New Zealand, Australia, the UK and the United States. That international approach gives the music a broad sonic palette while retaining a strong Auckland and New Zealand identity.
‘Try Something New’ follows John Paul’s previous work with Steve James, including his debut single ‘If Your Not Here’.
