ROCK’EN’ROL: Independent Music Venues Unite to help get Rangatahi/Young Adults Enrolled to Vote!

A collective of independent music venues are hosting ROCK’EN’ROL events throughout September and October – bringing communities together and helping rangatahi enrol for the 2026 General Election.
The nationwide, non-partisan initiative will use live music, art and community events to connect with young people aged 18–24 in particular, and make enrolling easy, visible and accessible.
For the 2026 General Election, voters must be enrolled – and have updated their address if they’ve moved—by midnight on Sunday 25 October. Enrolment closes before advance voting begins on Monday 26 October, meaning people will no longer be able to enrol at a voting place. Election Day is Saturday 7 November.
Even better if you enrol by midnight on Sunday 4 October, you’ll be sent an EasyVote card, making voting faster and easier.
ROCK’EN’ROL have called on their local hip-hop crews, punk bands, pop and folk artists, DJs, community leaders, comedians, rabble-rousers and local legends to help create an event! The kaupapa is simple: provide enrolment support and a great event, to encourage youth participation.
