NZ Music Commission’s Industry Internship Programme is back for 2027!

Host Organisation Applications for the Industry Internship Programme 2027 are NOW OPEN until Monday 5th October 2026.

The NZ Music Commission is pleased to announce the return of the Industry Internship Programme for 2027, with applications for Host Organisations open from TODAY.

The Industry Internship Programme is an initiative from the NZ Music Commission to help emerging music professionals and recent tertiary graduates gain experience and kick-start their careers in the music sector. Running since 2018, the Industry Internship Programme has successfully placed Interns into a wide range of industry roles each year – including working in recording studios, events management, live music venues, PR and publishing companies, and plenty more.

Interns are mentored by their Host Organisation and develop skills, knowledge and industry networks during their placement – while Host Organisations benefit from having a fresh perspective as well as knowing they are lifting up the next generation of music industry professionals.

Please note: due to budget restraints, there will be a reduced number of placements this year. Host contribution rates have also been adjusted to better support the programme outcomes.

Applications for Host Organisations are open until Monday 5 October 5:00PM. Applications for Interns will open in late October.
