New Zealand’s newest star Morgan La Fae invites listeners into the world of Full Immersion, a fantasy land where memories feel tangible, nostalgia becomes almost physical, and the line between what is real and what is imagined begins to blur. Rather than simply putting songs together, Full Immersion builds a world. It’s a place for the romantics, the daydreamers, and the overthinkers.

On November 20th Morgan La Fae will release Full Immersion, her dramatic and cinematic, dream-pop debut EP, and celebrate with a release show at Ōtautahi’s Space Academy. Each song acts as its own portal into the Full Immersion world, with the five tracks exploring sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell through Morgan’s cinematic songwriting and atmospheric production.

The first portal opened with ‘Cigarettes and Coffee’, Morgan La Fae’s debut single, and the first taste of Full Immersion. Focusing on the sense of taste, the track introduced listeners to Morgan’s hazy, romantic world and quickly found an audience both at home and overseas. ‘Cigarettes and Coffee’ reached #1 on RDU and #6 on the Student Radio Network, while receiving press attention nationally and internationally, an early indication of the world being built around Full Immersion.

Now, Morgan is opening the next portal.

The second single, ‘Echo Chamber’, focuses on the sense of sound, and turns more deeply inward, exploring the experience of being unable to escape your own thoughts, and what happens when your fantasy world becomes indistinguishable from real life.

The track will be released on October 9th, accompanied by a cinematic music video directed by Paris Baillie, arriving just in time for spooky season. The video further solidifies the idea of a fantasy land being infiltrated by a chemical breakdown.

Full Immersion follows Morgan’s fascination with romanticising the ordinary, finding beauty in moments that may be temporary, and viewing life through rose-tinted glasses. It embraces the all encompassing elements of life. Sonically, the EP lives within a dramatic dream-pop landscape, combining hazy atmospheres, emotional vocals and cinematic textures to create something that listeners of Billie Eilish and Lana Del Rey will resonate with.

The EP is available for pre-order now and will be available on CD and vinyl for those who love to support independent artists or collect physical media.
