UnderTheRadar Win SRN Tohu Kahurangi | Outstanding Achievement Award

Huge congratulations to local music champions UnderThe Radar for taking home NZ Music Commission Te Reo Reka o Aotearoa Outstanding Achievement at the Student Radio Network Awards on Saturday night.

Supporting artists from across the motu for almost twenty years, UnderTheRadar has been an advocate for music from Aotearoa since 2004.

Started by Daryl Fincham and Angela Windust only a year after MySpace launched, UnderTheRadar began as a site made by music fans for music fans and has been a home for platforming new, interesting and alternative music in New Zealand ever since. The global digital landscape has seen many changes to the ways people discover new music, but UTR has been an important constant in Aotearoa – now having over 300,000 registered users that between them bought over 900,000 tickets to local music events.

Congratulations to Daryl and Angela – alongside editor and music writer Chris Cudby and all the UTR team that have made UnderTheRadar an outstanding advocate for local music over the past two decades.
