Robinson Returns with Powerful New Single ‘The War On Art’

NZ born, international breakthrough artist Robinson has returned with her first single of 2024, the soaring new track ‘The War On Art’.
An impatient, driving guitar with dark undertones are matched with Robinson’s emotive, powerfully raw vocal performance. When the chorus hits, ‘The War On Art’ is stadium ready; stacked with vocals and a massive rhythm section, as Robinson lyrically opens fire on the darker realities of creative industries “where they turn our dreams into a business.”
“‘The War On Art’ is the very message I have come to stand for as an artist,” explains Robinson.
“All too often, I’ve heard and experienced the horror stories that people in the creative industries go through. They’re taken advantage of, financially struggle (even with their success), are victims of power plays, are told how to act and dress in order to ‘sell’, and are treated as nothing more than a brand that must be fine-tuned.”
“I believe that it’s when you step into your power as a creative, face all of the uphill battles of these industries, and are able to truly thrive in the way it should have always been (free of limitations, abuse, control and toxicity), that true success can be reached.”
‘The War On Art’ was co-written and recorded with frequent collaborator Charles Macdonald, as they were house sitting in multiple homes right across the UK. Macdonald also produced the track, before it was then mixed by Dan Grech and mastered by Chris Gehringer.
Robinson made her first big statement in 2018 with her sparkling pop gem ‘Nothing To Regret’ (certified Platinum in New Zealand and double Platinum in Australia). In 2020, she released her debut four-track EP WATCHING YOU. In 2023, she burst back onto the scene with her EP CHASING NIRVANA, featuring the single ‘Things Aren’t Nice In Paradise’ which hit #1 on the Hot 20 NZ Singles Chart. The EP quickly racked up hundreds of thousands of streams on Spotify alone, with ‘Teenage Renegade’ reaching over 1.5 million. In 2023 she also opened for OneRepublic, taking in shows across Australia before performing at Auckland’s Spark Arena.
With Robinson gearing up for another year of stellar releases, and growing evermore into her complete and authentic artistry, there are many reasons to get very excited. Watch this space!
