Paired with a mesmerizing music video directed by Francesca Sewell, shot by Kerry Pullham, and produced by Mason Rudd, ‘Psychic’ follows the success of their track ‘Help It,’ which garnered widespread acclaim, including a feature on Rolling Stone. The band continues to captivate audiences with their latest musical offering.

‘Psychic’ delves into intuition and romance, exploring the innate feeling of knowing someone is about to enter your life romantically. With haunting melodies and introspective lyricism, the song transports listeners on a journey through the depths of emotion and anticipation.

Written by lead vocalist Ella Doty, ‘Psychic’ offers a glimpse into a relationship and jumps forward in time. “I just had that feeling that my life was about to be blessed with romance and companionship. I feel very in touch with my intuition, and I wanted to write about that experience—which ultimately became a reality! I think these feelings have been captured so well sonically also. We worked with two incredible string players, Antonia Grant and Alex Hoare, who made the song flourish and come to life! It really made the piece into this whimsical soundscape, which we felt the song needed given the subject.”

My Cosmic Girl continues pushing their genre’s boundaries with this new single. The band’s sound and captivating storytelling solidify their place as one of the exciting new acts to emerge from Aotearoa’s music scene.
