Goodspace Shares Single / Music Video ‘You Only Give What You Leave’, Announces Debut Album Let’s Talk About Death and Album Release Instillation

‘You Only Give What You Leave’ is the lead and closing track of Goodspace‘s upcoming debut album Let’s Talk About Death (out October 5th).

Completely self-produced, recorded and mixed in The Goodspace home studio, the tone is warm yet weighty, uplifting yet grounded.

Blending organic and electronic sounds with narrative-driven lyrics that examine death, ‘You Only Give What You Leave’ is the end of the story and the opener of the conversation.

Featuring dancer Zoe White, the accompanying music video embodies a sense of carefree acceptance and hope against the backdrop of a half-demolished building.
“I had a very direct experience of that when my father passed away. I was in his house two days afterwards, cleaning and clearing out stuff. And one of my realisations was, “Whoa, when you die, you only give what you leave behind.”
Tāmaki Makaurau’s Goodspace once again shows a love for music that reaches between and beyond, offering a nuanced view with quiet conviction.

After all, in the end, you only give what you leave behind.

Step into VENDOR: An Interactive Album Release Experience

To celebrate the release of Let’s Talk About Death, Goodspace invites fans to VENDOR, an unconventional album release installation. From 28 September to 4 October, the storage room at Lim Chhour Food Court will be transformed into an interactive shopfront where Jefferson Chen will serve up tracks from the album.

Visitors are encouraged to engage with the artist during shop hours, ordering tracks from the ‘menu’ and listening to their ‘meals’ through personal listening devices. Alternatively, attendees can join a ‘group dining’ experience at set times each day to enjoy the full feast of the album. The installation is free to the public, with BYO headphones for those visiting at any time or pre-booking for a more immersive group session.

You can RSVP for your auditory dining experience here.
