Hot off the press, three New Zealand artists have just been announced for SXSW 2025 in their first line up reveal for the event in Austin next March – Bakers Eddy, Frankie Venter and Guardian Singles. Showcase applications are still open – but only just, closing tomorrow NZT.
In this newsletter, we take a look at Aotearoa artists kicking all the goals in Australia: recapping SXSW Sydney, Jaedyn Randell‘s journey on The Voice Australia, Halfqueen‘s triple J residency and all the NZ locals on upcoming festival announcements.
Further across the globe, we celebrate our homegrown hapori taking the world stage at Amsterdam Dance Event, and there’s a few hits (and hits to come) with our Aotearoa artists collaborating with international greats.
We’ve included some Outward Sound notices from our International Office and a few application reminders for 2025 showcasing opportunities at the aforementioned SXSW 2025, the International Indigenous Music Summit and The Great Escape 2025.
Read on for our biggest Sound Bites digest yet and, as always, our International Gig Guide with 55 artists upcoming shows in 26 different countries!
