Neive Strang Unveils Her New Album Find Me in the Rabbit Hole

Ōtepoti songwriting sensation Neive Strang has over the past couple of years been dangling the carrot of a forthcoming album recorded with Taite Music Prize-winning producer Sean James Donnelly (SJD). And now Find Me in the Rabbit Hole has an official release date, due out in the world on 4th April digitally and on limited vinyl LP via Strang’s own independent label, Polly B Records.
Also a member of Shayne P. Carter’s touring/recording Dimmer band these past years, Neive reflects on the record that has consumed her solo artistry during this time: “Although this isn’t a concept album, these songs were written over the course of a few years with the earliest in 2021 and the latest in 2024. The growth and healing I hear in these songs takes me from start to end every time. It has captured some of the most transformative years of my life, which can now be reflected on forever. It’s for me a very honest and raw album, and Sean Donnelly has handled it beautifully in the producing department. We are both very proud of it.”
Alongside this album, Neive is proud to announce the launch of her independent label, Polly B Records, which will debut with the release of Find Me in the Rabbit Hole including the limited vinyl edition.
Typical of the album’s dream woven style, is the current single Gather Round. Written in 2023, it explores themes of self reflection and the tension between personal comfort and social pressures. Neive shares, “I wrote this song during a time when I preferred my simple comforts and indulging in thought, choosing not to engage socially despite the pressure I felt—pressure that mostly came from within.”
The accompanying music video for ‘Gather Round’ was shot and directed by the album’s producer, Sean Donnelly (SJD), and features a vibrant, bold colour palette, softened by billowing sheets that create a serene atmosphere around Neive’s emotive performance. This striking visual captures the song’s themes of introspection and solitude. With these kind of feelings, Neive Strang’s Find Me in the Rabbit Hole feels like an album for the times.
