BIG FAN Announces the First Intakes of IGNITE for 2025

BIG FAN announces the first intakes of IGNITE for 2025, offering rangatahi aged 15 to 18 a rare opportunity to gain real-world industry experience, guided by some of the best in the business, taking place in both Tāmaki Makaurau and Pōneke.

IGNITE is a FREE 8-week training programme designed to give rangatahi hands-on skills, industry insights, and one-on-one mentorship. Participants will attend workshops, get behind-the-scenes venue and studio tours, and be mentored by industry professionals throughout the programme. Participants will also work on real-world projects:

Event Management and Event Production* streams will collaborate to organise and produce an all-ages show.
Music Production stream participants will produce an original song over the course of the programme.

IGNITE is uniquely focused on teaching not only creativity but also the complementary skills supporting the music industry, exposing the incredible breadth of career pathways and opportunities within it.

No experience is necessary – The programme supports rangatahi who are passionate and curious about managing events, working in live production, or producing music – helping them kick-start a journey in the music industry.

Programme Dates: (AKL) Sunday 18 May – Wednesday 16 July; (WLG) Sunday 18 May – Tuesday 15 July

Applications Open: Wednesday 2 April 2025 10am
