This Matariki, we are excited to offer a unique opportunity for secondary students to deepen their connection to music and Matariki through MATARIKI WĀNANGA – a FREE songwriting and music arrangement wānanga led by music legends Troy Kingi, Laughton Kora, Aro and more, supported by a live house band!

TIME: 9.50AM – 2.10PM
VENUE: The Loft at Q Theatre, Tāmaki Makaurau

Please note: the wānanga runs across three days but each student attends ONE full day only.

Backed by the Ministry of Education, this workshop is here to uplift and empower:

– Passionate music ākonga eager to grow their skills and confidence alongside industry professionals
– Learners who would benefit from extra encouragement and support in their music journey
– Students preparing entries for the Play It Strange Waiata Māori Competition

This FREE wānanga is an inspiring enrichment opportunity for students at all levels of musical experience.
