Intern applications for the NZ Music Commission’s Industry Internship Programme 2026 are now open!
The Industry Internship Programme is an initiative to support the next generation of music industry professionals, and help emerging music professionals and recent tertiary graduates gain valuable industry experience to kick-start their careers.
This year there are 14 internships available in total, with roles located in Whangārei, Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin.
Running since 2018, the Programme has successfully placed Interns into a wide range of industry roles each year – including working in recording studios, events management, live music venues, PR and publishing companies, and plenty more. Interns are mentored by their Host Organisation and develop skills, knowledge and industry networks during their placement. All internships are paid positions at the NZ Living Wage rate.
A link to the online Intern application form and full role descriptions (including start dates and hours per week) are available on the NZ Music Commission website here.
If you have any further questions about the Programme, check out the Intern Frequently Asked Questions PDF here or please contact the NZ Music Commission at internships@nzmusic.org.nz.
Intern applications are now open, until 5PM Monday 24 November.
Please note: This year we also have two internships with an early closing date of 5PM Friday 14 November. If you wish to apply for either of these roles you must have your application in by this date.
