20 autumns. 20 winters. 20 springs. 20 summers. 20 years of Home Alone Recs.

Established in 2006 by Timothy Blackman, Home Alone is a DIY label and community. Over the years they have released an impressive catalogue of music from both local and international artists, alongside 4 seasonal compilations. They have hosted concerts and house shows featuring artists on the roster and international guests including Mess-Esque, Hand Habits, and Shenandoah Davis.

In 2025, the label (now run by Timothy Blackman, Brooke Singer, Lake South, and Tessa Dillon) released new music from By a Damn Sight, Fables (AKL), French for Rabbits, Frances Grass, Incredible Yacht Control (AKL/US), Lake South, Michaela Tempers, Re:Ruby, Sig Wilder & Friends, and Young Moon (BLN).

“I set up Home Alone in 2006 to support the release of my first EP. Starting an artist-run label was heavily influenced by the film Jandek on Corwood, and has morphed into a community of like minded artists collaborating on almost 50 albums, with artists across Aotearoa, Australia and the United States” – Timothy Blackman.

To celebrate 20 summers, Home Alone are throwing a festival with some of their favourite bands and artists in one of their favourite Wellington community venues on 28 February 2026.
