Tāmaki Makaurau hip-hop innovator Dbldbl stars in the new episode of LIVE MUSIC BAR. The solo project of rapper / producer Liam Dargaville (Te Rarawa, Ngā Puhi), Dbldbl busted out a rapid-fire selection of highlights from their rhyme book — ‘Nurse Joy’, newest single ‘Fakey’, ‘Lemon Drop’, unreleased number ‘Meanie Part One’ — paused to answer questions posed by our live studio audience (featuring special guest pooch Suzie), and wrapped up proceedings with ‘Meanie Part Two (also unreleased)’.

All filmed in our boutique venue within the beating heart of Tāmaki Makaurau, LIVE MUSIC BAR is an authentic and innovative nightclub experience bridging the online / irl divide. Shot by James Milne (Chabs & Milky, Lawrence Arabia) and Sports Team using vintage camera gear, YOU are invited to attend a gig at LIVE MUSIC BAR — launched in conjunction with UTR’s 20th anniversary celebrations.

Dbldbl is the solo hip-hop project of rapper / producer Liam Dargaville (Te Rarawa, Ngā Puhi), formerly of HEAVY. Finalist for the 2022 Te Tōtahi Toa (Favourite Single) SRN Award, Dbldbl’s recent sonic output via Sunreturn includes their 2024 single ‘Fakey’ with Randa, ‘Lemon Drop’, ‘Big Mike’ and a remix for deepState’s debut album MMXXI. Catch Dbldbl as part of the all-star lineup of contributors for Exploding Rainbow Orchestra, at Hopetoun Alpha on 9th and 10th October (tickets via UTR).
