Estère Unveils New Afro House Single ‘Duog Dala’

Artist, producer and DJ Estère, of Cameroonian and New Zealand heritage, launches a bold new chapter with the release of ‘Duog Dala’, the first in a series of Afro-House singles to be unveiled throughout 2025. These tracks will pave the way for her anticipated new album, Diaspora Baby, due out in 2026.

The concept of ‘Duog Dala’ was born on a trip back to Cameroon where I was introduced to two great creatives: Fancy Fingers – an incredible artist and producer, and Winyo, an incredible artist and singer, both from Kenya. I’ve met so many talented artists from all parts of Africa; their music, language and energy all have stories to tell – and these stories have helped me to connect to my own identity.” Estère

Now based in London, Estère relocated in 2023 with a mission to reconnect with her Cameroonian roots. Her journey included two trips to Cameroon where she performed at festivals, led workshops, and collaborated with local creatives, immersing herself in the cultural and musical landscape.

‘Duog Dala’ features vocals by Fancy Fingers (member of Grammy Award winning Kenyan band Sauti Sol) and Winyo, sung in their native Luo language. The track was co-produced by Estère and collaborator Allan McConnell, and created at the renowned Young Studios (home to artists like Jamie XX and Sampha). The sessions were part of a residency hosted by Tame Impala’s new creative venture, Telepathic, which invited a select group of artists and producers to experiment with their innovative new instrument, Orchid.
