Flynn Adamson’s latest, ‘Started A Cult’ is about being so in love that you ignore every red flag, (even the giant one in the title). Inspired by his love for a girl that came from a really strict family, this song captures that feeling of being completely blinded by love, where alarming things start to feel endearing.

The catchy hook brings a fresh sound for Flynn, where his screams (“yeah yeah yeah yeah”) made him “uncomfortable in a good way,” a feeling he says he loved – and a sonic mirror of his lived experience in this musing relationship.

Flynn Adamson is a full-time independent musician, writing, producing, recording, mixing and mastering his own music. He also writes and produces for other NZ artists, including Sophie Maude, Wilka, May-C, Hone and Verity.

His last single ‘SUCKS’ reached #4 on the Hot 20 Aotearoa Singles Chart for two consecutive weeks and #36 on the NZ Hot 40, getting radio play on ZM and The Edge. In September 2026 he opened for MKTO at The Studio and Jack Gray at The Tuning Fork on their NZ tours, ahead of his live summer slots which include returning to the stage at Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park.
