kloey Releases ‘Firefight’, the Second Single from her Debut EP

Indie-pop artist kloey today releases the second single of her upcoming EP, ‘Firefight‘. ‘Firefight’ is an alternative-pop track blending catchy vocals and synthesiser melodies with experimental, nighttime-infused sparkly production.

Produced by Jacob Callwood (AKA Shehatesjacob), ‘Firefight’ explores the confusion of receiving mixed signals from someone struggling with commitment.

‘Firefight’ is for the girls, the gays, and the arsonists.

kloey (Kloey Shaw) is a rising indie-pop artist based in Pōneke, New Zealand. Her sound blends heartfelt, introspective lyrics with a unique mix of indie-pop and alternative sounds, creating music that feels both deep and upbeat

Recently graduating with a Bachelor’s in Commercial Music Practice, kloey was previously the lead singer of indie-pop rock band College Try, who headlines multiple gigs and gained attention across the Wellington music scene. She is now focused on her solo project and making her mark in the city.

She launched her solo project ‘kloey’ with her debut single ‘Black Cat’ in late 2024, followed by ‘On Her Own’. Leading up to her debut EP, she has been performing across Pōneke, including running her very own event promotion’s business “Klo-promotions”, where she aims to organise events that empower Wahine music acts. Through this, she headlined a gig at Garrett Street, while leading up to her release played at Valhalla for Jayme Morpeth’s EP release show, and Eyegum at San Fran.

With colourful scrapbook-style visuals and her playful, high-energy live performances, kloey is brining the same sense of fun and chaos to every part of the release.
