Lexytron Releases Their New Single ‘Elevator’ & Announces Album, Something New

About Lexytron and ‘Something New’:

John & Yoko. Jack and Meg. Now Lexy & Mike – a creatively offbeat English husband-and-wife songwriting and musical duo based in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland), New Zealand.

Following Lexytron’s genre-bending debut album Something Blue, lead singer Lexy slips into something more electronic on Something New — pairing an alternative pop-rock style with sardonic wit, big choruses, and the painful honesty that has become her trademark.

The album was self-produced in Auckland and mixed and mastered by London producer Marco Meloni. The first two singles, ‘Kiss Me Quick’ and ‘Disco Jenny,’ earned Lexytron international critical acclaim and media coverage, including:

Illustrate Magazine (New York)

My Views Are My Own podcast (Nashville)

Kick Arts (Auckland)

On ‘Elevator’:

The missing song from every 80s John Hughes movie, ‘Elevator’ is a fizzy coming-of-age synth-pop bop, fit for spinning on table tops and bouncing on beds.”
