Mazbou Q and DEVAURA Join Forces on New Single ‘Show Up, Show Out’

A fierce and cinematic Hip Hop release blending North African-inspired synth textures with hard-hitting West African rhythmic foundations. Dark, moody and club-ready, the track captures both artists at full intensity, combining commanding performances, technical flows and an infectious hook with raw energy.

Rooted in the pair’s shared Nigerian heritage, ‘Show Up, Show Out’ is a statement of confidence, resilience and presence. The title itself reflects the mentality driving the record: stepping into every space with pride, authority and undeniable charisma. Mazbou Q delivers sharp lyricism and dynamic rhythmic performances, while DEVAURA brings a powerful contrast through character-filled delivery and ethereal melodic textures.

Known online as “The Rap Scientist”, Mazbou Q has built an international reputation through his innovative work exploring rap flow, rhythm theory and musicality in Hip Hop. The Auckland-based Nigerian artist, producer and educator has lectured and presented workshops at institutions including Harvard University and Berklee College of Music, while also developing a reputation for explosive live performances that fuse Hip Hop with the energy and intensity of rock and Afro-influenced music traditions.

Born in Aotearoa and now based in Eora (Sydney), DEVAURA has quickly emerged as one of the most exciting new voices in Australian music, recently earning recognition as a Triple J Unearthed Draft Pick and Acclaim x PUMA Wildcard Award recipient.

Accompanying the release is a visually striking music video shot in the sand dunes of Newcastle, Australia, transformed into a surreal desert landscape reminiscent of regions across North Africa and the Sahel. Against cloudless blue skies and endless smooth sand, Mazbou Q and DEVAURA appear adorned in traditional-inspired garments and gold jewellery, interacting with and riding camels like modern-day royalty.

The clip also shifts into scenes set within a picturesque Central American-inspired luxury villa at sunset, drenched in warm gold tones and rich colours. Across the video, fierceness and authority collide with cheekiness and charisma, creating a visual world that feels cinematic, stylish and larger than life.

To celebrate the release, Mazbou Q will headline a special single release show at Big Fan on June 6th, joined by rising local African artists Tida and Eyejay. Backed by a full live band, Mazbou Q will bring his trademark high-energy, rock-infused Afro-inspired Hip Hop to the stage for an explosive live experience.
