MusicHelps Surpasses $1M in Funding for Music Therapy Across NZ

MusicHelps is proud to announce a major milestone – more than $1 million has now been invested into music based initiatives throughout Aotearoa.

Since its inception, MusicHelps has supported organisations who use the power of music to help and heal New Zealanders in need. The charity now reaches tens of thousands of people facing health challenges, isolation and hardship, and helps as a tool for connection, recovery and healing.

“Reaching $1 million is a huge moment – but what matters most is the thousands of lives changed through music. Supporting this work up and down the country is a total honour” says Anthony Healey, MusicHelps Board Chair.

“This incredible milestone is the culmination of thousands of little steps. Steps taken by our community of fellow travellers who have chosen to put their time and money into Music Helps because of a shared belief that music has such tremendous power to do good. Campbell Smith and I just want to say thank you to everyone who has helped Music Helps reach this point in the road. And thank you to the communities of people all across Aotearoa who use music everyday to make life better for people. Onwards!” says Barbara Ward – MusicHelps Co-Founder

With demand for mental health and community support continuing to grow, music is playing an increasingly vital role across the country

As the official charity partner of NZ Music T-Shirt Day, MusicHelps will carry this momentum into May for NZ Music Month, rallying artists, fans and the wider industry to celebrate local music while directly supporting the people behind it.
