Powder Chutes Release Latest Track ‘Vendetta’

Hot on the heels of opening for Highly Suspect, Powder Chutes’ release Vendetta, an intelligent rock tour de force of a track.

The new single from Powder Chutes is possibly their most anthemic to date, with a complex theme of generational feud instigated by manipulative forefathers for their own ends. It tackles destiny, institutional indoctrination, and the fight for individual free will. A grand panoramic lyrical theme delivered with no compromise of Powder Chutes’ massive signature sound; Vendetta has a massive vocal hook and a demonic rock groove that builds to a huge riff-laden climax.

Powder Chutes were recently at the centre of a media sensation when Johnny from Highly Suspect recognized them in the crowd in Christchurch and added them to the next show in Wellington, saying “I’ve been hearing about this band for at least a year now from NZ fans. So… We’re gonna have ‘em drive their asses out here and open up the stage tomorrow night. Because dope people do dope stuff.”

Highly Suspect then took Powder Chutes to Spark Arena in Auckland, saying Powder Chutes is so fuckin’ sick, we’re gonna put them on again tomorrow night. New Zealand, y’all got you a cool band.”

What happened next will become part of New Zealand rock folklore as Highly Suspect called Powder Chutes on stage to perform one of their biggest hits, ‘Lydia’. What unfolded was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the band and a ‘you-had-to-be-there’ experience for everyone who witnessed it. The Highly Suspect frontman also took a moment during the song to dub Powder Chutes “the coolest lads in the country,” saying “This is the start of a very long friendship.”

‘Vendetta’ is accompanied by a stunning video from Bunker Street Film Co., using teenage frenemies in small-town 1986 as the setting for an epic battle against manipulation and weaponized indoctrination.

Previous singles ‘Moths To The Flame’, ‘Merchants’, ‘Straights’, and ‘Scalpel’ were all featured in Classic Rock Magazine as ‘Top Tracks of the Week’ amongst strong international competition.
