Today we are celebrating the Raukatauri Music Therapy Trust‘s 20th Birthday! This day marks 20 years of providing transformative music therapy services to those in need across the motu.

During the show Raukatauri co-Founder Dame Hinewehi Mohi was featured saying that the Trust is: “… always wanting to expand and be bigger, but needing to be very realistic about how we can afford to do that with no direct Government funding. So it’s sad in our 20th Birthday year that we do have the biggest challenge financially ever.”

As a Charitable Trust, Raukatauri rely on donations and fundraising which in turn enable those in need to access subsidised yet high quality music therapy sessions. Please consider donating to Raukatauri today, either with a one off donation, or through our Koha Programme.

The Koha for Raukatauri giving programme allows individuals to support Raukatauri monthly at whatever contribution level they choose. Raukatauri receives no direct Government funding and needs to raise over $2,200,000 each year to keep all of our programmes running, while constantly expanding to reach more New Zealanders in need.

Music therapy allows children experiencing long-term hospitalisations, adults with dementia, children impacted by trauma, those with developmental disabilities and many others the chance to express themselves, develop independence, and form meaningful relationships.
